Mental health charity welcomes donation from Doncaster iPort's Amazon

14 May, 2021

A Doncaster charity that provides mental health services has received a donation of £5,000 from the Amazon fulfilment centre on the town’s iPort.

The donation was made after a member of the Amazon team nominated Doncaster Mind to benefit from a special COVID-19 initiative as part Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its UK operating locations.

Doncaster Mind offers a range of services to help support individuals as they recover from mental health difficulties.

We’re proud to support organisations such as Doncaster Mind that are making a real difference in our community. Its staff and volunteers have been a great support to people in Doncaster during COVID-19 and we want to lend a helping hand with this donation.

David Benfell, Site Leader at Amazon in Doncaster iPort

Doncaster Mind is a charity close to my heart and I am pleased that it has been chosen to receive this donation from Amazon. I hope that it gives the staff and volunteers a boost during what continues to be a challenging year.

Katie Wardley, who nominated the charity

Like all charities, our services have never been needed more than they are now. Amazon’s support is hugely appreciated and will enable us to continue to reach and help people in our community. Thank you to David and the team in Doncaster for this donation.

Laura Arthur, from Doncaster Mind

Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.
